Big Bang for your Buck Biryani

£1.93 for 4 big portions

  • 2 x tablespoon of any oil
  • 2 x courgette or any veg
  • 3 x tablespoons of frozen peas
  • 3 x tomatoes 
  • 1 x large onion
  • 2 x carots or any veg
  • 1 x packet of any Microwave Rice
  • 1/4 jar of Patak Tikka Masala Paste
  • Add all ingredients into a pan on a medium heat but not Paste or Rice
  • Cook for 10mins stirring often
  • After 5mins add Paste
  • After 10mins add Rice
  • Stir everything together until all encased in golden brown Paste
  • Stuff yourself  healthy on the veg ... and enjoy it all on the cheap!

Scrambled eggs - Cheap, easy and filling

  • 3 eggs
  • Splash of milk
  • Mix in a mug
  • Add large spoon of butter to pan
  • Wait for it to heat
  • Plonk ingredients in pan and stir with a wooden spoon until golden
  • Rest for 2 minutes
  • Stuff yourself senseless!

Pop your Corn

  • 5 egg cups of popping corn (around 100g)
  • 1 egg cup of any vegetable oil
  • Add oil to a large pan (you need a lid)
  • Wait for the temperature to rise to a medium level
  • Plonk popping corn in the pan and continually shake it for about 4 minutes
  • Wait for popping corn to POP!
  • Rest for a few minutes off the heat
  • Add sugar or salt - or nothing at all
  • Eat yourself silly!

Chips on the cheap

£1.74 for a huge stack

  • 1 x litre of oil
  • 1 x packet of King Edward potatoes (2.5 kg is more than enough)
  • Wait for the oil to 'simmer'
  • Add cut and dried potatoes - as many as you need
  • Regularly shake and turn oil down if required
  • Remove once golden brown and place on a paper towel to let oil rinse
  • Get your teeth into the stack of joy!

Sweet & sour peanut butter sandwich

  • Two slices of economy white bread
  • Lightly butter
  • Spread peanut butter on one side
  • Spread salad cream on the other
  • Add a layer of lettuce
  • Bash both slices together
  • Fill yourself to the brim!
